Conference Phones
"Why is it that business telephone systems are so hard to use? It's impossible to put someone on hold, transfer a call, or have a call with multiple participants without it being an absolute nightmare and potentially hanging up on the person on the other end of the call. "
Why is it that business telephone systems are so hard to use? It's impossible to put someone on hold, transfer a call, or have a call with multiple participants without it being an absolute nightmare and potentially hanging up on the person on the other end of the call.

Rarely do people use the functions available to them on conference phones. Although the features may be useful in theory, if the interface is so confusing that the average person cannot decipher it without reading a manual, there is some room for improvement. Perhaps the interface could be simplified, maybe add a touchscreen wizard to guide you through a process and make it less intimidating. Another approach would be to devote the technology to a few core functions and get rid of the rest. Conference phones, as they are now, are definitely an area that needs improvement.

JBonnin thinks: Please, phone companies, make it understandable and easy!!!!!
SimplyOverwhelmed thinks: It's true that once you know one, you can figure out the rest. For me, knowing how to use the technology is what makes it fun to use...simplify it too much and you've taken away the appealing side! ;)
