ztyler questions:
Cell Phones in Cinemas
I've often been confronted with the incredibly annoying sound of someone's cell phone ringing during a movie. This seems to happen more than it should despite messages before the movie. The question is, is there an simple way to avoid this without changing peoples experience?
View A
It's up to the individual to use common sense on cell phone etiquette. A cinema is not the place to conduct a phone call and definitely not DURING the movie. Social norms should make this an unacceptable action.
View B
Surely everyone can't be expected to remember to turn their cell phones off every time. Cinemas should incorporate the same technology as casinos and simply use technology to disable cell phone reception. Phones don't ring, problem solved!

clo thinks: Nothing ruins a good movie more than someone's cellphone ringing...except possibly if they actually answer it and begin having an actual conversation.
newman42 thinks: It should be up to the individual to show common courtesy when in a movie theater. Adding additional technology to eliminate this inconvenience would only result in higher ticket prices and considering the current price to see a movie, it may soon become a luxury just to go to a theater to see a movie.
