We often talk about complexity and inconveniences in our lives, but are we really just talking about tasks that take up more time than they should? Is time now the currency we use to judge value?

Time is the new currency. We now judge complexity by how long it takes to perform a task. Time, after all, is the only thing that cannot be replaced.

Complexity should not be judged on time alone. Time is an investment and its value should be based on the quality of experience rather than the speed at which it was accomplished.

loosechange thinks: Considering time is one of the few things that we cannot replace, I feel that it should be considered the most valuable measure of all. We waste so much time trying to buy products that allow us to enjoy life, but the real enjoyment is in spending time with your family and taking advantage of those precious moments.

chip thinks: Carbon Credits, Gold, even Distance could be classified as tradable commodities, but Time has no start nor end. We're just giving ourselves too much importance in thinking that we can control Time. Or quantify it. A riverside picnic could take the same time as solving a complex algorithm, and one could get various pleasure out of these activities depending on one's tastes, but i think the real question that we need to ask is: Are we happy doing what we do? 'Cause you can say 'i took ten minutes' , but can you say 'the experience gave me X degrees of happiness'?

Maybe the new world needs Time to make sense of it all, but give me a lazy sunday afternoon, a dip in the sea, a mountain trek or a late brunch anyday.

pawn thinks: Time is relative. Obviously the quality of the time spent is most important. Remember "time flies when you're having fun". There's a reason for that. When we are participating in activities that we enjoy, time is irrelevant although I agree that an efficient use of time will allow you to have more time to do those things you enjoy most.

atinaro thinks: Time can be view as the new currency, in that we can only adjust to time, but time can never adjust to our demands, believe and thinking.

BigCheez thinks: Let's face it, time is money. It may not be equivelant to a a Euro, but based on other things you could be doing rather than wasting time on unnecessary task, it can translate to something more value. Maybe you could be doing something that saves you money or makes you money. In those terms, time is the new currency. It's the one thing that we should value most as it's the one thing we can't get back.

onesandshoe thinks: If time is money then how nuch of it is going to take before we realize and begin to put to optimum

use the understanding that WE all are members of this race called humanity which inhabit this our planet , and that being case do we really have the wherewithall ( time money energy etc. etc. ) to continue to deal with the ongoing and adnauseum

time money energy etc. etc. theories concerning nationality , nationalism(s) ?

clione thinks: Todays society relies on doing more with less. Less time being a part of the equation. So, yes, I believe time has a considerable amount of value, but what the true value actually is depend greatly on the activity and the amount of free time available.
